Murder on Sheshadri Road!!!!!!!!!!!

The Sheshadri Road flyover is bringing an end to this wonderful canopy of trees. About 100 trees are being chopped down for the flyover.

Noone to save us?????

Noone to save us?????

The up ramp starts from Khoday’s Circle (At the end of Platform Road – the road on which the main entrance to the City Railway Station stands). It is a 5-lane one-way flyover. One lane breaks away into a loop and descends towards RC College and Janata Dal Secular office. The remaining four lanes pass over the stretch of Seshadri Road running from Ananda Rao Circle to Subbanna Circle (at the intersection of Gandhinagar 5th Main Road, Seshadri Road and Race Course Road – also known as Gandhi Square) and descend into a down ramp and meet the surface a few metres ahead of the fire station, aligned to the left half of the Seshadri Road.

We had a similer situation here in Cooke Town, Bangalore. This happened when they started the constuction of the Cox Town flyover. We lost trees which are more than 100yrs old and a beautiful canopy of shade. I really feel there are so many alternatives which are not explored and very soon our city is going to become like a desert- Garden City will be something which will be only in history books.

This is a calculated move designed by the timber mafia in the city and not by any sense of the term for the development of the city… they buy the timber at a discount from the government

    One cannot object in piecemeal!
You have to chose a strategy of decvelopment which doen’t require concentration of huge population .
We have opted for such densely populated cities at the cost of rural development!
That will necessitate Nuclear Power, Road Transplort consisting of battalions of cars and not Bicycles, sewerage and water problems!

So another massacre has been heaped upon the citizens of Bangalore and we are all silent spectators towards such a dastardly act of the so called civic agencies of namma Bengalooru.
These civic agencies are those who are actually responsible towards maintaining the greenery of the city. But alas! these very people are on a destruction spree and that too with the tacit backing of the State Government.
Let me tell you guys we are all just doing nothing.simply NOTHING.
we all share a few lines in some blogs discuss them over coffee/tea for during breaks and them all is forgotten.
I feel the only way is go on a hunger strike(may sound vague to u all)or something similar to that.
I suppose no can ever forget the Chipko movement of Sunder lal Bahuguna.Namma Bengalooru requires a movement similar to that.
But tell me how many are really committed towards that end.
If you all come forward,I will definitely take the lead and we will start them.
Remember hugging a tree not for an hour or day but till our goal is achieved.
    Any takers for my suggestion?

we need to come up with a sure cut and quick plan to set this right. else with the metro rails coming up there would be more similar news we’ll be listening. citizens need to wake up and elect better representatives who do care about us and namma bengaluru.
